Patiala News:Awareness message against drugs: More than 72 thousand students took the pledge
To fulfill the objectives of the Drug-Free India Campaign launched by the Central Government, as per the orders issued by Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Agarwal, 72297 students studying in 376 upper primary schools of Patiala district have taken the oath during the morning assembly under the able leadership of DEO (Secondary) Shalu Mehra and Deputy DEO Ravinderpal Sharma.
4305 teachers from 16 education blocks under the district also participated in this program. District Nodal Officer Neeru Bala said that on this occasion, the students themselves took a pledge to remain drug free.
Along with this, the students also took an oath to make their best efforts to eradicate drug addiction from the family/neighborhood/village/city/society/state/city/country.
He said that the activities being conducted under the Drug Free India Campaign are now making students aware, which is expected to yield good results. Apart from this program, the state government is also educating students about making a ‘Healthy Punjab’ through the curriculum launched under the ‘War on Drugs’.
