Patiala News:Training courses for recruitment into the army, paramilitary forces and police

District Defence Services Welfare Officer Commander Baljinder Virk (Retd.) said that a pre-recruitment training course for children of Punjab only for recruitment in the army and paramilitary forces is being started from 02/09/2026 at the department’s pre-recruitment center, the aim of which is to make the children of soldiers serving in the army, ex-servicemen and other categories eligible for recruitment in the army, paramilitary forces and police.
This course will be of 45 days. During which the students will be prepared physically for the required standard for recruitment. Apart from this, they will also be prepared for the written examination. For recruitment as a soldier in the army, the candidate should be between 17-1/2 to 22 years of age, height 170 cm, chest 77 to 82 cm and weight 50 kg and the candidate must have passed the tenth class with 45% marks in total and 33% in each subject. For recruitment as a clerk/SKT, the candidates should be between 17-1/2 to 22 years of age and should have a minimum height of 162 cm. It is necessary to have passed with 50% marks in English and Mathematics/Accounting/Bookkeeping subjects.
Interested candidates can register their names at the District Defence Services Welfare Office, Patiala, near Railway Station, along with their educational certificates, passport size photographs, discharge book (only for children of ex-servicemen) and SC candidates can register their names at the District Defence Services Welfare Office, Patiala, near Railway Station. He has also informed that only candidates from Patiala district can join this training. An all-weather track and necessary training equipment are available for pre-recruitment center training.
