Patiala News:Malwa Mail won the Punjab Queen’s Cup, defeating Puadh Express by 3 wickets in the final

*The winning team won a prize of Rs 2 lakh and the runner-up won a prize of Rs 1 lakh*

The Punjab Queens Twenty-20 Cup, organized by the Punjab Cricket Association to promote women’s cricket, concluded at the Dhruv Pandav Cricket Stadium here. Malwa won the four-team tournament. In the final, Malwa Mail defeated Puadh Express by three wickets to win the cup. Two other teams, Majha Brigade and Doaba Titans, also participated in the tournament.

After the final match played today, AAP General Secretary and State Media Incharge Baltej Singh Pannu distributed prizes to the winning players. The winning team Malwa Mail was given a cup and a prize money of Rs. 2 lakh and the runner-up team Puadh Express was given a prize money of Rs. 1 lakh and a runner-up trophy.

In the final match, Puadh Express won the toss and elected to bat first and were all out for 88 in 19.2 overs. Ankita Pathak scored 22 runs for Puadh team. Alisha Mehta took four wickets for Malwa Mail. Malwa Mail achieved the target by scoring 90 runs for the loss of three wickets in 18 overs. Avneet Kaur Sandhu scored 34 and Harsimrat Kaur scored 28 runs for Malwa.

Individual awards were also given out at the closing ceremony. Kanika Ahuja scored 287 runs in seven matches and won the title of best batsman. Mannat Kashyap took 14 wickets in seven matches and won the title of best bowler. Alisha Mehta was given the Player of the Final Match award.

Congratulating the winning players, S. Baltej Singh Pannu said that today girls are progressing in every field. The Punjab government is providing more opportunities to girls to progress in sports. S. Pannu congratulated the Punjab Cricket Association for organizing this tournament.

Former Indian cricketers Gurkirat Singh Mann, Barinder Singh Sran and Bhupinder Singh Junior, associated with the Punjab Cricket Association, were also present on the occasion.
