Under the leadership of Civil Surgeon Patiala Dr. Shelly Jaitley, teams of the Health Department conducted anti-dengue dry day activities at government and private medical hospitals in Patiala district. During this, dengue larvae were checked at Amar Hospital, Vardan Hospital, AB Hospital, Sadbhavana Hospital, Park Hospital, Government Ayurvedic Hospital etc. and the larvae found at many places were destroyed on the spot. On this occasion, the general public was made aware about dengue.
Keeping in mind the rainy season, Civil Surgeon Dr. Shaili Jaitley appealed to all the residents of Patiala to keep their surroundings clean as well as their homes to prevent the spread of dengue during the rainy season and not to let water collect in empty things inside the houses. Along with this, he said that to make this campaign successful, the help of nursing students , ASHA workers , members of Village Health Committees as well as representatives of the Rural Development and Panchayat Department is being taken. He also said that wherever the teams of the Health Department are finding larvae, they are being destroyed on the spot. Along with this, larvicide is also being sprayed on standing water. He advised to get dengue tested if there is a complaint of high fever and body pain.
District Epidemiologist Dr. Gurpreet Kaur said that today 16849 people from across the district have tested positive for COVID-19. Dengue larvae were checked by reaching homes and 118 The teams destroyed the larvae found at the spot. He also informed that till now, 852747 people have been treated by the health teams under the Dry Day campaign. A survey of homes has been conducted . Including 5106 Larvae were found at the spot which were destroyed by the teams on the spot and the concerned families were made aware about the future prevention. He said that till now 30 cases have been reported in Patiala district. Dengue cases have been found.
