Common people wait for weeks and months for voter registration , what special facility was given to Raghav Chadha: Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP ) Punjab chief spokesperson and MLA Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal on Thursday accused the Punjab and Bhagwant Mann governments of defaming the state over the issue of Raghav Chadha’s name being removed from the voter list in Mohali. The BJP and Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha were strongly criticized for their efforts. The AAP Punjab chief spokesperson said the issue was raised at the national level to spread the false narrative that the Punjab government deliberately cancelled Raghav Chadha’s vote.

Speaking to the media at a press conference, Dhaliwal said that when AAP sought information from the Election Commission about Raghav Chadha’s voter registration , it was revealed that his voter registration had been completed in Rajinder Nagar, Delhi. He questioned how this registration could be done so quickly , when ordinary people have to wait for weeks or months even after submitting the form. He asked , “People are going to BLOs, SDM offices, and Tehsildar offices to cast their votes . What special facilities were provided in this matter ?”

The AAP Punjab chief spokesperson further questioned who verified Chadha’s address for Rajinder Nagar voter registration. He explained , ” During voter verification , BLOs usually verify the applicant’s residence through the relevant local representative, neighbors, or other people associated with the area.”

He said , ” Who verified Raghav Chadha’s house ? When available information shows that his house in Delhi and the address where he registered his vote were different , who performed the verification ? Raghav Chadha’s house in Rajinder Nagar has been closed for some time. The Election Commission should clarify who checked and verified this application and under what rules this registration was done so quickly.”

Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal said that the BJP has repeatedly tried to exploit every issue , be it political , social , agricultural , drug-related, or any other issue, to harm Punjab and the Bhagwant Mann government. He said , ” The latest controversy has once again demonstrated how Punjab was being targeted at the national level.”

Taking aim at Raghav Chadha, AAP Punjab’s chief spokesperson said that Punjab gave him the opportunity to become a Rajya Sabha member , but now he is making statements that portray Punjab and its government in a negative light. He said , ” The party and Punjab that made you a Rajya Sabha member should not be betrayed in this manner. Punjabis will not tolerate attempts to defame Punjab.”

Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal said that AAP has neither called for anyone’s vote to be cancelled nor has it demanded that anyone cast an illegal vote. He further said , ” The Election Commission should present the full facts to the public. If voter registration can be done so quickly in this case , then ordinary citizens also deserve to know why they have to run around offices and wait for weeks or months for this same process.”

Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal said that the BJP and Raghav Chadha should stop using such issues to defame Punjab and the Bhagwant Mann government. He said that AAP will continue to expose every attempt to defame Punjab and present the true facts to the people.
